But its all good as it counts as a decent job in a full-employment economy.

Re: UK austerity has inflicted 'great misery' on citizens, UN says
These car licence driving jobs are most likely multi-drop type that will involve weekends and late/early shifts unloading and lifting furniture, white goods etc - a truly shit existence in this day and age. We had a sofa delivered a while back by two blokes that slept in the lorry to save overnighting costs. Their employer was complicit in it

Yes I was surprised but going on what Joe said.

neilalex, 30k isn’t the norm for a 7.5t driver, more like 22k and plenty of hours.

Re: UK austerity has inflicted 'great misery' on citizens, UN says
Blimey, you can actually get a £30k job driving a 7.5t truck? Anyone can do that, takes 5 minutes to get used to. I'm surprised those jobs go unfilled, that's a world away from driving an HGV.

The ford car transporter gig has always been very well paid , proper dead mans shoes job that one .

In fact even now transporters is a grand a week , hard graft tho .

I get a pretty good screw and full catering as well on tour . Downside is I’m away from home 6/8 months a year , up side is I only work 4/6 months a year .

If I overspend it’s easy to top up with agency work in the close season.

Will never make a million but can always put food on the table.

Re: UK austerity has inflicted 'great misery' on citizens, UN says
Joe got quite a few mates who are HGV,not for me as its a lonely job.One works for Fords and is on about 80k including all the extras not basic, but does silly hours.
Another used to go Scotland regular, but sacked it and now takes home £200pw less but says he's got a life.
Think truckers deserve to be well paid.

Re: UK austerity has inflicted 'great misery' on citizens, UN says
Become a HGV driver , shortage of 30,000 aparently , some firms will even put you through the test for free .

You will never be out of work again .

All you have to do is put up with long hours and shit pay.

7.5 tonne job going for 28.5k , bloke gets no takers . You can drive those on a normal licence if you passed your test pre 94.

Re: UK austerity has inflicted 'great misery' on citizens, UN says
The solution is for the poor to become wealthy, and that solution lies in their own hands, and not on a plate that someone "in authority" controls.

It lies in creating additional wealth, not simply redistributing that which has already been created.

Not Easy? Did I say it was/would be easy? Well, did I, punk?

Capitol Man 2:52 Sun Nov 18
Re: UK austerity has inflicted 'great misery' on citizens, UN says
Point here is clearly not one of absolute poverty, but relative. But once you get to that point it has to be considered as to whether the policies of austerity have been justified.

The idiots can prattle on about iPhones and TVs as they always do, but it’s basically getting the working class to focus on the poor as getting something they don’t deserve, while the incredibly wealthy rob them blind.

Guess I can multi-task.

You should try it. May be a bit "old dogs/new tricks" in your case, but give it a go.

I try not to "jet-set". Flying's a terrible bore these days.

That's rather impressive Oxbore. You manage to spend every waking hour on here whilst balancing your hectic lifestyle as a multi-property owning jetsetter.

What is it with this place?

Tories on here kept saying there was no such thing as Austerity.

Truly fucking sad bunch of cunts.

Can't "sneak back" to what you never left, Kronic, or is that a bit to complex for you to contemplate.

Like many on here, I do a lot of work in different countries around the globe. In some it's more cost effective for me to buy a property than to rent/stay in hotels. I guess a simpleton would equate that with me "leaving" the UK.

Re: UK austerity has inflicted 'great misery' on citizens, UN says
Oxbore somehow equates mocking people who lie/boast on internet forums with mocking genuinely successful people.

He then finds it odd that i don't feel the need to boast on a forum about helping people less fortunate that me.

Take away his 5 syllable words and oddball riddles and underneath is an incredibly dense cunt.

No offence x
